ZAGREB, 4 April (Hina) - Croatian President Franjo Tudjman on
Thursday sent a letter to the wife of U.S. Secretary of Commerce
Ronald Brown, who was killed yesterday in a plane crash near
Dubrovnik.
This is the text of President Tudjman's letter:
'On my own behalf and on the behalf of the Croat people I
would like to express to you and your family our most sincere and
heartfelt condolences.
Your husband was on a mission which should have contributed to
the further development of friendly relations between Croatia and
the United States, especially in the economic field. The
unfortunate stroke of fate prevented him from carrying out this
task and took away your life companion and the father of your
children.
Rest assured that the Croat people feel your personal tragedy
as their own and that they will not forget his noble intentions,
the task with which he set off for Croatia and his friendly
feelings towards Croatia.
