WASHINGTON/ZAGREB, April 3 (Hina) - A plane carrying US Secretary
of Commerce Ronald Brown went missing on Wednesday afternoon on a
flight from the northeastern Bosnian town of Tuzla to the southern
Croatian town of Dubrovnik, White House press secretary Mike
McCurry said.
McCurry told a press briefing in Washington that the plane had
been three hours overdue in Dubrovnik. He could not confirm whether
it had crashed but added that the wreckege of a plane had been
sighted off the coast of Dubrovnik.
Earlier on Wednesday, Brown had visited Tuzla together with a
12-member delegation of big private corporations to discuss with
local authorities US plans to begin the reconstruction of Bosnia
with investments in energy, transport and communications.
The US officials had also visited US troops deployed in Bosnia
as part of the NATO-led peace Implementation Force (IFOR).
