ZAGREB, 12 Dec (Hina) - The Croatian-American Society held a
special convention in Zagreb on Friday.
The Society adopted the new Statute and adjusted its regulations to
the regulations of the new Law on Associations.
According to the Statute, the Croatian-American Society would keep
its current name, but to be in line with the law, it will have to
submit a request to the Administration Ministry asking to keep and
use the word "Croatian" in its name.
The Society's President Slobodan Lang informed the Society members
about the initiative 'The Challenge of the Good' which he started on
the Internet, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Human
Rights Convention and the Convention on the Prevention of
Genocide.
The initiative was aimed at gathering ideas for the promotion of
humanitarian protection all over the world in the next year. The aim
of the action was for people to start using technological
achievements in the area of humanitarian work as well, so that
events from Croatia would not happen again, Lang said, recalling
that Croatian hospitals had been attacked during the Homeland war
and no one spoke about it.
