BONN, Dec 6 (Hina) - Opening a session of the Croatian Citizens'
Council at the Croatian Embassy in Bonn, which was attended by about
60 participants and distinguished guests from Zagreb, Croatian
Ambassador to Germany, Zoran Jasic, stressed the strategic
importance of intensifying relations between Croatians at home and
abroad.
Economic globalisation adds to requests for effective earnings, so
it is necessary to transfer new knowledge and technology into the
homeland. At the same time, education must be used in defending the
cultural identity of the youth of the Diaspora.
By organising the conference entitled "The Education of Young
Croatian Citizens in Germany", the Croatian Embassy in Bonn wished
to point out the importance of education of youth and the
seriousness of the factual situation, which gave rise to an
animated discussion.
Present at the conference were head of the Croatian Emigrants'
Society, Anto Beljo, Mgsr Vladimir Stankovic of the Catholic
churchfold abroad, Croatian government spokesman Neven Jurica,
Croatian Parliament member Stanislav Janovic, and representatives
of Croatian ministries, Ruzica Simlesa, Vinko Purgar and Nedjeljko
Spilek.
