SARAJEVO, Oct 28 (Hina) - The US Embassy in Sarajevo on Tuesday
strongly condemned an October 26 attack on the Domic family in the
village of Nule near Travnik, central Bosnia, in which one person
was killed and two were wounded.
The US Embassy said in a statement that the attack, regardless of
its motives, led to the intimidation of Croat families wishing to
live in central Bosnia.
We demand from the political leadership of Bosnia-Herzegovina and
the leadership of the Federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina to insist on
the apprehension and condemnation of those responsible for this act
as well as for other acts threatening the multiethnic nature of the
state, the statement said.
Political leaders must clearly demonstrate that they will not
tolerate an atmosphere in which such events can occur, it added.
The US Embassy stressed that radical elements and those resorting
to violence should not be led to believe that their acts were
producing results and that the basic responsibility for that lay
with the political leadership who should ensure the inhabitants of
Bosnia-Herzegovina to live without fear.
