STRASBOURG, Oct 24 (Hina) - Croatian Education and Sport Minister
Ljilja Vokic met Council of Europe Director for Political Affairs
Hans-Peter Furrer in Strasbourg on Thursday, the Croatian mission
to the Council of Europe said in a statement.
Vokic informed Furrer about education programmes for ethnic
minorities in Croatia and textbooks in minority languages.
Vokic stressed the efforts of her ministry in identifying children
who would like to be educated in minority languages. She added that
education in minority languages would be financed from the national
budget.
Vokic and Furrer agreed on further strengthening the cooperation
between Croatia and the Council of Europe in the sphere of
education.
Vokic was in Strasbourg on Wednesday and Thursday to attend a four-
day seminar called "Education on Human Rights and Reconciliation in
Croatia", organised by the Council of Europe and the UN
Transitional Administration in the Croatian Danube region.
