STRASBOURG, Oct 10 (Hina) - Croatian Foreign Minister Mate Granic,
who is attending a two-day Council of Europe summit in Strasbourg,
met Slovenian Foreign Minister Boris Frlec and Vatican Foreign
Minister Jean Louis Terran on Friday.
Granic and the newly-appointed Slovenian minister discussed
mechanisms for solving open issues between the two countries.
The talks with the Vatican diplomat focused on the peaceful
reintegration of the UN-administered Danube river region into
Croatia and the peace process in Bosnia-Herzegovina in the light of
the voluntary surrender of ten Bosnian Croat war crimes suspects to
the International Criminal Tribunal in The Hague.
Granic and Terran stressed the excellent relations between
Croatia and the Vatican, and Terran relayed the greetings of Pope
John Paul II to Croatian President Franjo Tudjman.
Granic also held brief talks with the Foreign Ministers of
Luxembourg, Poland and Switzerland, Jacques Poos, Darius Roszati and
Flavio Cotti.
