CROATIAN OFFICIALS SOON TO RETURN TO VUKOVAR

( Vidi vijest: 5258 ) VUKOVAR, Oct 23 (Hina) - High representatives of the Croatian parliament, government and the President's office on Thursday visited the Singles Hotel, a reconstructed 11-floor building in Borovo, a district of Vukovar, eastern Croatia, where displaced persons and officials of Vukovar's administration and trade should move in over the next days. The Singles Hotel includes 129 two-bed rooms and premises which should host Croatian Radio Vukovar. According to Reconstruction Minister Jure Radic, the first to move in will be displaced officials on whom, he said, "depends Vukovar's life". Ivica Vrkic, vice-president of the National Committee for the restoration of trust, announced he and Vukovar Mayor Vladimir Stengl would move in on 27 October. Up to now, four floors with 48 rooms have already been reconstructed and furnitured, while the remaining floors should be completed by the end of the month. Asked how Serbs in the town of Ilok will be prevented from having one to two houses, Minister Radic said the Croatian government expected the UNTAES to settle this issue.
