OSIJEK, Oct 22 (Hina) - A group of 49 Serb dislocated people having
lived in the UN-administrated area of eastern Croatia after the
liberation of the formerly Serb-held Croatian regions, on
Wednesday left the UNTAES-controlled Croatian Danube river area
for their homes in Karlovac, Sisak and Okucani.
Twenty seven people from this convoy which travelled by bus will
come back to Sisak, and 11 will return to Karlovac and Okucani
each.
A co-ordinator at the Osijek-based regional office for the
displaced and refugees, Snjezana Covic, said that those returnees
were chiefly the elderly.
She added that Serbs now hesitated to decide to return to their
homes in other Croatian parts due to the coming winter, and that's
why it would be difficult to organise another convoys.
On Tuesday evening a group of 12 Serb displaced people left the
Danube area and returned to Knin and Sibenik.
