VUKOVAR, July 10 (Hina) - Town authorities of Vukovar work in an office
of the Payment Operations Bureau (ZAP) building in the downtown Vukovar.
"From Monday to Thursday we work in Vukovar, and on Friday we are
in our current office in Zagreb to be still at service of displaced
citizens of Vukovar," the mayor of that eastern Croatian town, Vladimir
Stengl, said on Thursday.
He said that a decision was rendered that the Grand palace in the
downtown Vukovar would house the town authorities and mayor in the
future.
The facility was totally destroyed during the aggression, and the
staff for Vukovar monuments' reconstruction, led by Culture Minister
Bozo Biskupic, has decided that the palace should be among first five
monuments to be renovated.
According to Stengl, the town authorities will completely move into
Vukovar next week, and only a small part of them will stay in the
Croatian capital.
