ZAGREB, June 14 (Hina) - On the eve of Croatia's 15 June presidential
election, an international press centre was opened in the Croatian
parliament on Saturday afternoon. The press centre will gather domestic
and foreign reporters who will follow the course of tomorrow's election
and the election results.
The reporters will be informed about the electoral turnout at press
conferences at 13.30 and 18.30 hours. The first, unofficial results will
be made known at 00.30 hours on 16 June.
The presidential election is one of the most important events
around the world, the president of the Croatian Election Commission,
Ivan Mrkonjic, said today at the opening of the international press
centre. The Croatian Election Commission has carried out all necessary
preparation for tomorrow's election, at polling places in Croatia, and
for Croatian citizens abroad as well.
Mrkonjic recalled that 4.060,000 Croatian citizens, out of them
about 377,000 abroad, have the right to take part at tomorrow's
presidential election.
The election results could be followed on the Internet as well, he
concluded.
