CROATIAN ELECTORAL COMMISSION CHAIRMAN RECEIVES OSCE OFFICIAL

ZAGREB, June 2 (Hina) - Croatian Electoral Commission chairman Ivan Mrkonjic on Monday received the chief coordinator of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights, Kare Vollan, the Electoral Commission said in a statement. Mrkonjic informed his guest about provisions of the Law on the Election of the President of the Republic and regulations by the commission under which June 15 presidential elections would be held. Vollan showed great interest in the way in which Croatian citizens residing outside Croatia would be voting. Mrkonjic explained the rights and duties of election monitors under election regulations. He expressed confidence that his commission and other bodies in charge of elections would continue successful cooperation with all OSCE institutions. (hina) vm 021644 MET jun 97
