BELISCE, March 25 (Hina) - Croatian President Franjo Tudjman on
Tuesday laid the foundation stone and thus marked the beginning of
works on the construction of a bridge across the river Drava in
Belisce towards Baranja. #L#
Tudjman was welcomed by a large number of residents, among
whom there ere many awaiting their re turn to Baranja.
Tudjman was first greeted by Osijek County prefect Branimir
Glavas who stressed that the construction of the bridge would make
Baranja an integral part of the Croatian state once and for all.
Tudjman stressed he was especially pleased to see so many
young people who were the future of the country.
Accompanying Tudjman were Interior Minister Ivan Penic,
Agriculture and Forestry Minister Zlatko Dominikovic, Croatian
Parliament deputy presidents Jadranka Kosor and Vladimir Seks,
deputy President's Chief-of-Staff Vesna Skare Ozbolt, President's
advisor for humanitarian issues, Slobodan Lang and President's
aide-de-camp Kresimir Kaspar.
