ZAGREB, Mar 21 (Hina) - More refugees would return to Bosnia-
Herzegovina (BH) this year than in the last, when assumptions for
this process were just being made, UN high commissioner for
refugees Sadako Ogata told reporters in Zagreb on Friday.
According to Ogata, UNHCR divided the returnees to those who
were coming back to parts in BH where they constituted the ethnic
majority and those returning to parts where they were in the
minority.
Reconstruction was a very significant issue in those parts
where the returnees represented the ethnic majority, Ogata said,
adding that the return to areas where they were in the minority
represented a "big challenge" to UNHCR. In those parts UNHCR was
attempting to ensure freedom of movement and the freedom to choose
whether to return or not, she said.
According to Ogata, UNHCR was trying to make projects which
would ensure the complying with obligations related to the return,
especially in Republika Srpska.
