SARAJEVO, Mar 13 (Hina) - The Council of Ministers of Bosnia-Herzegovina
(BH) on Thursday evening agreed on a bill on the foreign trade policy of BH.
Still to be co-ordinated is a bill on tariff policy, in which the most
important thing to determine is whether customs revenues belonged to the
entities or to BH.
International Peace Coordinator Carl Bildt today forwarded a letter to
the Council of Ministers of BH, in which he warned them about the
forthcoming donors' conference for BH and that the international community
would not give up on BH's obligation to fulfil the conditions set forth by
the International Monetary Fund (IMF). Apart from a "package for a fast
beginning", the fundamental condition for the holding of the donors'
conference was, according to Bildt, the signing of an agreement with the
IMF, for the signing of which BH must accept the budget for 1997. In this
respect, Bildt proposed that the Council of Ministers concentrate on the
solving of the least debatable issues.
Commenting the letter, co-chairman of the ministers' session, Haris
Silajdzic, said he was unpleasantly surprised with the letter, adding that
Bildt wanted to attribute some of his oversights to the Council of
Ministers. Bildt's Office could not have its priorities without listening at
the same time to our own priorities, Silajdzic said and pointed out that the
Council of Ministers was faced with many problems accumulated over the last
five years, and these were not easy to solve.
