State
Secretary John Kornblum. #L#
Granic is at the head of a Croatian delegation which is to participate at the
Conference on the Implementation of the Decision of the Arbitration Committee +
on Brcko
on Friday afternoon.
The brief meeting between Granic and Schuessel focused on bilateral relations,+
the
situation in Bosnia-Herzegovina, cooperation with the International Tribunal in+
The Hague
and special ways of cooperation between the two countries, within the Central +
European
Initiative.
Granic is to officially visit Vienna in the second half of April.
Talks with Kornblum discussed relations within the Bosnian Federation. The
Americans support Croatian views, especially the last moves of the Croat side +
in Mostar
which were done with the firm support of Croatia.
Croatia also expects similar decisive steps from the Bosniac side to remove +
all
those opposing the strengthening of the Bosnian Federation.
It is the American view that there could be no Bosnian Federation or the state+
of
Bosnia-Herzegovina without Croats in central Bosnia and Sarajevo.
Granic and Kornblum agreed about the need for the election of a president and
deputy president of the Bosnian Federation as soon as possible, as well as for +
a law which
would enable the establishment of new municipalities to be passed.
The talks also focused on the peaceful reintegration of the Croatian Danubian +
area
and about cooperation with the International crimes Tribunal in The Hague which+
the US
holds as an important element in mutual relations.
