ZAGREB, Mar 4 (Hina) - The departure of the first of three groups
of physicians and other medical workers from Croatia, going to the
United States for vocational training, was marked on Tuesday at the
office of the World Training Programme in Zagreb.
The Programme is organized by the American International
Health Association (AIHA) and is financed by the U.S. International
Agency for Development. 21 medical workers from three Zagreb
hospitals will during March stay at the Darmouth-Hitchcock Medical
Center in Lebanon, New Hampshire. The ten-day training programmes
will be conducted by American physicians.
U.S. Ambassador to Croatia, Peter Galbraith, expressed
satisfaction with the implementation of the AIHA Programme in
Croatia, and pointed out that the medical system in Croatia was
advanced and could keep pace with the world.
