AMBASSADOR NOBILO HOLDS INAUGURAL SPEECH AT OSCE IN VIENNA

Autor: ;JN;
ZAGREB, March 6 (Hina) - Croatia welcomes the decision of the OSCE to engage as the key organisation in the post-UNTAES phase of the reintegration of the Croatian Danubian region, whereas the Croatian Government commits itself to fully cooperate in that effort, Croatian Ambassador to the OSCE, Mario Nobilo, said in his inaugural address to the OSCE Permanent Council in Vienna, on Thursday. "It is to my pleasure that I have come to the OSCE at the moment when our Organisation is taking over from the UN the leading role in the stabilisation, peace, security and democratic development in our part of Europe," he said. "Having been the ambassador of Croatia to the UN for nearly five years, I have had the opportunity to actively participate in the efforts to find the solution to the conflict in former Yugoslavia, and I am happy to be able to continue doing so in Vienna," Ambassador Nobilo added. "In that regard, I would like to welcome the decision of the OSCE to engage as the key organisation in the post-UNTAES phase of the peaceful reintegration of the Croatian Danubian regions, as well as to express the commitment of my Government to fully cooperate in that efforts," he said. "The Republic of Croatia, as a responsible member of the OSCE, remains firmly committed to the OSCE documents and decisions that regulate the security dimension of our Organisation. Croatia has implemented those commitments so far, and I would like to inform the Permanent Council that we are already preparing for the remaining implementation ...," he added. Ambassador Nobilo stressed the excellent cooperation of Croatia in the implementation of the Subregional Arms Control Agreement obligations. (hina) jn mš 061628 MET mar 97
