ZAGREB, March 5 (Hina) - The Council of Europe advisory commission
for higher education and research in Croatia, wound up a three-day
visit to Croatia.
The commission held a series of talks with Croatian Science
Ministry officials and universities' representatives on the
establishment of higher schools and academies in Croatia.
The commission proposed that higher schools should last at
least three years, which will enable diplomas to be certified in
Europe.
At a news conference in Zagreb, commission members and Science
Ministry officials said today that the talks had revolved around
differences between higher school diplomas and universities
diplomas, the position of students who have degrees from higher
schools, their employment and position in Croatian economy.
The Council of Europe commission will send its views and
recommendations in a written form to the Croatian Government.
