SARAJEVO, Feb 27 (Hina) - The office of the ombudsmen of the Bosnian
Federation confirmed on Thursday that the Church of St Mary Theresa in the
central Bosnian town of Donji Vakuf had been blown up on the evening of
February 25.
The office said in a statement that the explosion had destroyed the
interior of the church.
Chairman of Bosnia-Herzegovina's Presidency Alija Izetbegovic on
Thursday asked the Federation's Interior Minister to increase security
measure to protect all Catholic Church buildings in the country.
The attack on the Catholic buildings was obviously aimed at preventing
the Pope's visit to Sarajevo and was part of enemy activities against
unified and democratic Bosnia-Herzegovina, Izetbegovic's office said in a
statement.
