MOSTAR, Feb 10 (Hina) - According to latest reports, two dead Croat
civilians are lying in the area near the Sutina cemetery in the
eastern part of Mostar, Mostar Mayor said on Monday evening during
a part of talks with Michael Steiner, which journalists could
attend.
Commenting on Monday's events in Mostar Prskalo said that "
the intention of Bosniaks (Moslems) was not to visit a cemetery,"
but to cause clashes.
Prskalo warned Steiner who is a deputy to the top
international peace administrator in Mostar, that worse
developments would be possible if Moslem extremists were not
deterred.
He also added that photos of Monday's events showed that
Deputy Mayor Safet Orucevic had been among several thousand Moslems
who intended to come in western Mostar.
In the group that entered Liska street there was a big group
of armed Moslems heading for Square of Croatian Great Men where a
carnival was taking place. Croat police tried to prevent them but
they attacked the police and hurt three Croat policemen by knife.
After this statement of Prskalo, the meeting was continued
behind the closed doors.
Steiner said he had come for talks on practical matters in
order that the situation in Mostar might be calmed.
