MOSTAR, Feb 10 (Hina) - Commenting on Monday's distressing events
in Mostar, Mayor Ivan Prskalo, said in a public statement this
evening that the (Bosnia) Croat police had stopped an armed attack
of Moslem terrorists.
Prskalo said "today's terrorist attack has shown once again
that all the events have recently been very well organized and
devised by a part of extremists in the Moslem authorities."
Deputy Mayor Safet Orucevic's failure to comment on the latest
terrorist events shows clearly that he is the most responsible
person for what is happening in the Moslem municipality of Mostar,
according to Prskalo's statement.
Mostar Mayor also said that international police force, SFOR
and officials in the regional office of Carl Bildt shared the
responsibility for "today's crime," and added that Mostar Croats
had been warning them of possible developments for some time if
Moslem extremists were not deterred.
In the statement Prskalo said to "all Croats, citizens of the
Croat municipality of Mostar," to be cautious and not to get into a
panic because the Croat police would professionally, energetically
and decisively prevent all those who were again trying to cause
attacks, unrest and disturbance of safety and security in western
part of Mostar.
