$ IAN SOLDIER
OSIJEK, Feb 3 (Hina) - Mayor of the eastern Croatian town of
Osijek, Zlatko Kramaric, on Monday sent a letter of
condolences to the UN Transitional Administrator of eastern
Slavonia, Gen. Jacques Klein, and UNTAES commander, General
Willy Hanset, on the recent death of a Belgian solder in
Vukovar.
On behalf of Osijek citizens and on his own Kramaric
requested Klein and Hanset to convey sincere condolences to
the family of the killed Belgian corporal, Olivier Gosseye.
"We condemn strongly such grievous events and believe
that this tragic event will not prevent the continuation of
peaceful reintegration. This tragedy has to be the last
warning to all in the area who do not want peace," Mayor
Kramaric said in the letter.
