During the talks, Minister Granic stressed Croatia's readiness
to fully cooperate with The Hague Tribunal. He also warned that it
was necessary to start the trail of General Blaskic, who left for
The Hague of his own accord nine months ago.
It was necessary to speed up the procedure against crimes
committed during the aggression on Croatia in 1991, Granic said.
ICTY Chief Prosecutor Arbour welcomed the opening of a
Croatian government office for cooperation with The Hague Tribunal,
which, together with the Croatian Embassy in The Hague, would be
the main place for the exchange of information and cooperation
between Zagreb and the ICTY.
The meeting between Minister Granic and Mr Arbour was also
attended by the Croatian Ambassador to the Netherlands, Branko
Salaj, and the head of the Croatian government office for
cooperation with the ICTY, Srecko Jelinic.
