ZAGREB, Jan 21 (Hina) - Croatia's Prime Minister Zlatko Matesa, on
Tuesday received ambassadors of Norway and Austria, Knut Morkved
and Rudolf Bogner respectively, on their inaugural visit.
Norway supports Croatia's initiative for the completion of the
peaceful reintegration of the Danubian area, expressed in a Letter
of Intent by the Croatian Government, Ambassador Morkved said at
the talks with Prime Minister Matesa.
Matesa told the Norwegian Ambassador that Croatia was
orientated toward central European cooperation and EuroAtlantic
integration processes. Croatia is ready to cooperate with its
neighbours when it is about projects in Croatia's interests, but
institutionalized links are out of the question, he stressed
speaking of proposals for regional initiatives such as ones by the
European Union or SECI.
Norwegian Ambassador Morkved said his country would like to
strengthen cooperation with Croatia in shipbuilding, oil industry
and electronics.
Croatian Prime Minister and Austrian Ambassador Bogner agreed
that there was good cooperation between the two countries,
particularly on the level of small-sized and medium-sized companies
and banking. Bank Austria, the biggest Austrian bank, is expected
to open its branch in Zagreb at the beginning of April.
They said that it was necessary to further cultural
