SARAJEVO, Jan 21 (Hina) - The chief prosecutor of the international
war crimes tribunal for former Yugoslavia, Louise Arbour, said in
Sarajevo on Tuesday that she had reached agreement with Bosnian
Serb officials on the need for full cooperation but that she failed
to win their guarantees for the extradition of indicted war
criminals.
Arbour said that she could not accept such a view and rejected
an explanation that the internal laws of the Serb Republic within
Bosnia-Herzegovina prevented the handover of war crimes suspects to
the Hague-based tribunal.
