not doing enough to have war criminals brought to justice. #L#
It would be shocking to have the whole conflict in the
region brought down to 74 indictments which have so far been
confirmed, Arbour told a news conference in Zagreb Friday.
She added that her answer to the question whether more
indictments could be expected in the future was undoubtedly
yes.
She warned that the mandate of the international forces
regarding the apprehension of war suspects was too confined
and not in the interest of peace.
She also stressed that the greatest responsibility for
war criminals not being apprehended lay with politicians.
Arbour said that Croatian authorities had stated during
talks on Friday that they could not locate any of the 16
Croats indicted for was crimes in the Lasva river valley in
central Bosnia, including Dario Kordic.
She added that she had been told that if Croatia obtained
any information regarding the issue, they would immediately
inform the Tribunal.
Arbour is to visit Belgrade and Sarajevo during the next
few days.
