PRISTINA, Sept 27 (Hina) - At least seven Kosovo villages in the
Suva Reka municipality, 18km north of Prizren, came under strong
Serbian army and police attacks on Sunday.
Last night Serbian forces ordered the residents of Sotina to leave
their village, which they did later during the night.
It is reported that the residents of seven villages have set out
towards the village of Vranice, where 15,000 refugees are already
located.
The Kosovo Information Centre reported that a number of Serbian
tanks are directed towards the villages in the Suva Reka
municipality. At the same time, Serbian infantry has set out
towards those villages.
There have been no reports on the consequences of today's attack on
the municipality as yet.
For the fifth day in a row, Serbian forces have been holding under
siege 20,000 Albanian civilians from five villages of the Glogovac
municipality, the same source said.
The refugees are in an extremely difficult situation.
Around 8pm last night, Serbian police warned refugees in the
village of Resnik to leave their homes as soon as possible.
The residents of Resnik were yesterday visited by U.N. High
Commissioner for Refugees Sadako Ogata.
