ASSOCIATION OF RUTHENIANS AND UKRAINIANS CELEBRATES ANNIVERSARY

( Editorial: --> 1720 ) PETROVCI, Sept 20 (Hina) - The Association of Croatian Ruthenians and Ukrainians on Sunday celebrated the 30th anniversary in Petrovci near Vukovar. The Association also marked the 25th anniversary of its central cultural event "Petrovacko zvono" (Petrovci Bell). The event is held under the auspices of Croatian President Franjo Tudjman. The Association today also held a session which was addressed by its president Irinej Mudri who spoke about the position of Ruthenian and Ukrainian communities in Croatia. Participants in the session were greeted by President Tudjman's representative Franjo Greguric. The meeting was also addressed by the president of the parliamentary Committee for Human Rights and Rights of Ethnic and National Communities and Minorities, Miroslav Kis, and the head of the Government Office for Ethnic and National Communities and Minorities, Mila Simic.
