ZAGREB, Sept 4 (Hina) - Croatian President's Chief-of-Staff Hrvoje
Sarinic on Friday received the chief of the Organisation for
Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) in Croatia, Tim
Guldimann.
Guldimann informed Sarinic about the OSCE's positive views on the
progress made in the process of return of refugees and displaced
persons, and its expectations that preconditions for the
continuation of the process will be met.
Guldimann also relayed OSCE's expectations regarding amendments to
the Law on the Croatian Radio and Television (HRT), which will be
discussed by the Parliament, as well as issues on reforms to the
election law.
In that context, Guldimann tackled the issue of the OSCE mandate in
Croatia after December 31, and expressed the expectations of the
international community that it would be re-extended.
Sarinic stressed that the overall situation in Croatia was stable
and was constantly improving, which makes the general public pose
questions on the justification of various forms of international
presence and tutoring permanently.
Present at the meeting was also the President's advisor for foreign
affairs, Neven Madey.
