ZAGREB, Sept 3 (Hina) - The Croatian President Franjo Tudjman on
Thursday received the Bonn-based Zambian Ambassador Elias Marko
Chisha Chiphimo, who handed his credetials.
Chiphimo, who is the first Zambian ambassador to Croatia, said his
country expected the political and economic cooperation with
Croatia to improve to the mutual benefit.
Zambia, like Croatia, has abandoned the one-party system and
government-controlled economy. It is now turning to political
pluralism and market economy which enables the exchange of
experience and cooperation, Chiphimo said.
President Tudjman recalled the historic ties between Croatia and
Zambia.
As a former Yugoslav republic, Croatia was a member of the non-
alligned movement, he said.
Transition to democracy and liberal economy has given a new impulse
to the development of the Zambian-Croatian relations, President
Tudjman added.
