BELGRADE, Aug 11 (Hina) - Bosnian Foreign Minister Jadranko Prlic
says the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (FRY) has rejected
establishing diplomatic relations with Bosnia-Herzegovina and
exchanging ambassadors.
In an interview with the Beta news agency, carried on Tuesday by
Belgrade newspapers, Prlic said recently that through the Yugoslav
Embassy in Croatia he had sought agreement for Mile Akmadzic to be
appointed as the Bosnian Ambassador to Belgrade and had received an
official reply in Sarajevo.
The FRY authorities responded that they had accepted the BH
ambassadorial candidate, but "under current conditions we cannot
accept establishing diplomatic relations and exchanging
ambassadors", Prlic said.
In recent days the Belgrade press had reported that ambassadors
could be exchanged soon between the FRY and Bosnia, with Muhamed
Filipovic names as the BH ambassador and Vladimir Sultanovic as the
FRY ambassador.
