attacks on Kosovo Albanian villages in the Decane, Djakovica,
Srbica, Klina, Lipljane and Suva Reka municipalities, the Kosovo
Information Centre reported.
Residents have fled the villages.
According to Albanian sources, Serbian forces have since 3am begun
shelling villages along the Albanian border from Smolica to
Junika.
The pro-government Media Centre in Pristina reported on Monday that
Serbian police had entered the village of Smolica (northwest of
Djakovica) and killed more than ten armed Albanians. Albanian
sources have not yet confirmed this.
Since 7am Monday, Serbian troops have continued their offensive on
villages of the Srbica municipality.
Almost 30 villages of the Klina municipality are under attack.
The villages of Cerovik, Qabiqe, Zabergja, Doberdol, Ujmir and
Shatrice were burned and devastated in Sunday's attacks by Serbian
army and police. Two Albanians were reported killed, but the number
is estimated to be much higher.
Serbian troops are looting setting on fire Albanian houses in Duhla
and Blace near Suva Reka-
This most recent wave of attacks on Kosovo Albanian villages has
caused a mass exodus of Albanians from their homes.
