ZAGREB, July 27 (Hina) - Fifteen beaches on the Adriatic Sea have
high water quality, while another five Croatian beaches have water
fit for swimming.
Not one of 20 surveyed beaches on the Adriatic recorded occasional
contaminated seas nor water unfit for swimming, according to sea
quality data issued on Monday by Croatia's State Directorate for
Environmental Protection.
Beaches recording high water quality included: Umag, Pula,
Karlobag and island of Pag on the northern Adriatic; Zaton, Zadar,
Biograd, the island of Murter, Sibenik, Primosten, Split, the
island of Brac and Makarska on the central Adriatic; and the island
of Korcula and Dubrovnik on the southern Adriatic.
Water fit for swimming was recorded on: the Porec town beach, the
Moscenicka Draga main beach, Crikvenica main beach and Baska on the
northern Adriatic; and the Croatia Hotel beach in Cavtat on the
southern Adriatic.
