TOPUSKO, July 25 (Hina) - Croatian Health Minister Zeljko Rainer on
Saturday opened works on the building of a new hospital in Topusko.
The US$1 million-worth project is financed by the Croatian Ministry
of Health.
Construction work will take 150 days and will be followed by
equipping, said Reiner.
He emphasised the significance of building a hospital in Topusko,
an area of special government care which suffered heavy damage
during the Homeland War.
As a thermal resort well known in Croatia and Europe, Topusko needs
a new, well-equipped hospital, with a godd team of doctors and
health workers who will be able to offer a top-quality health
service to the numerous tourists arriving to recover and rest,
Reiner said.
Defence Minister Abndrija Hebrang, who was also present, said that
by building a hospital in an area of special care, the government
was demonstrating its assistance.
Hebrang also recalled the contribution of Croatian defenders from
Topusko and the surrounding area in the Homeland War.
Also present at the start of the construction were Croatian
Defenders Minister Juraj Njavro and Urban Planning, Construction
and Housing Minister Marko Sirac.
