ZAGREB, June 18 (Hina) - Dinko Sakic, former commander of the World
War II Jasenovac concentration camp, arrived at the Zagreb Pleso
airport at 7.20pm on Thursday, on board a regular Croatia Airlines
flight from Frankfurt.
From the airport, Sakic was taken to the county prison in the Zagreb
suburb of Remetinec in a police van.
Sakic did not give any statement upon his arrival but was taken
immediately to the police van.
The head of the Interpol Office in Zagreb, Mladen Vulinec, told
reporters that Sakic's extradition had been successfully
completed.
Ivan Damjanovic, head of the county prison in Remetinec, said that
Sakic would undergo regular legal prison procedure and that he
would be brought before the investigating judge within the next 24
hours.
Ivan Kern, officially appointed defence attorney, will be waiting
for Sakic in the prison, Damjanovic said.
An indictment against Sakic would probably be issued after the
investigation, but within the legal deadline of six months,
Damjanovic added.
