SARAJEVO, April 10 (Hina) - The international high representative
in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Carlos Westendorp, means most solemnly to
continue applying his authority in removing Bosnian officials
whose actions are hindering the peace process, Westendorp's
spokesman in Sarajevo, Simon Haselock, said on Friday.
Haselock told reporters that a list of possible measures to be
undertaken could be expanded before upcoming elections.
Punitive measures will in the future include the removal of
officials, who are estimated to be acting against the Dayton
Agreement, from the lists of candidates.
Haselock openly criticised the fact that the session of the
Presidency of Bosnia-Herzegovina had not taken place on Thursday
due to procedural reasons.
The high representative is disappointed and we hold there has been
too much of this, Haselock said.
He stressed it was time for the elected officials to concentrate on
their work, not formal issues.
The session of the Bosnian Presidency did not take place on Thursday
because of the failure of the Serb member, Momcilo Krajisnik, to
show up.
His office, however, explained that Krajisnik had been notified
about the session and its agenda too late.
