SARAJEVO, March 30 (Hina) - The Provisional Election Commission,
which is part of the OSCE Mission in Bosnia-Herzegovina, has
decided to change the rules and regulations to be applied at the
elections to be held in September this year.
At a meeting held on Saturday, the Commission especially considered
the registration of political parties, associations and
independent candidates, OSCE spokesman Dardan Gashi told reporters
in Sarajevo on Monday.
Every political party, association or independent candidate will
have to submit their political platforms which will show their
standpoints and plans, especially those concerning the return of
refugees, the economy, minority rights, reconstruction and
development and education and social care, Gashi said.
Parties, associations or independent candidates who participated
in some of the previous elections and won at least one mandate will
not have to register again.
According to Gashi, the Commission also decided that people chosen
for an electoral duty or a political position in some other country
can be candidates at this year's elections.
However, should they be elected, they will be able to keep only one
of their posts.
