GOVT ADOPTS PROJECT ON TOURISTIC DEVELOPMENT OF BRIJUNI ISLES

( Editorial: --> 8066 ) ZAGREB, Jan 29 (Hina) - The Croatian Government Thursday adopted a project on the Brijuni Isles National Park in the northern Adriatic aimed at a parallel development of elite and commercial tourism, which would also be of a high level. Like the Renaissance southern town of Dubrovnik and the peninsula of Mljet, Brijuni should become a trade mark of Croatian tourism. Premier Zlatko Matesa instructed Urban Development, Construction and Housing Minister Marko Sirac to gather a bank consortium which would finance the project. The Government today also forwarded into final parliament procedure three bills aimed at improving the situation in the judiciary. Premier Matesa instructed ministers to submit monthly reports on implemented tasks as outlined in the Croatian President's recent Address on the state of the nation. The government okayed the start of negotiations on signing a trade agreement between Croatia and Morocco, and adopted a protocol from the second session of a mixed commission for economic cooperation between Croatia and Slovakia. Commenting on certain media reports on the structure of tourists visiting Croatia, Premier Matesa instructed the ministries for foreign affairs and for tourism to promote, both in Croatia and Slovakia, the fact that all tourists are equally welcome.
