"Croatian Parliament's Deputy Speaker Vladimir Seks has dismissed media speculations that having been Croatia's chief prosecutor, he should be held responsible for omissions in the criminal proceedings against perpetrators of the murder of three members of the Zec family in Zagreb in 1991.
"Asked by reporters at the Drava bridge cornerstone-laying ceremony in east Croatia on Monday to comment on media reports that having been at that time the public prosecutor, he was responsible for the failure to lodge appeals against the acquittal of the Zec family murder defendants, Seks said that those reports were unfair and with groundless.
"He said that the documentation on the first-instance ruling in this case was sent to the prosecutorial authorities on 5 November 1992, while he ceased performing the office of public prosecutor on 16 August that year."
