I assume that extradition could happen within 14 days, and it can happen relatively fast, the spokesman said.
There is also a possibility for the organisation of Sanader's transfer back to Croatia together with a 36-year-old man and a 34-year-old woman, who were arrested in Carinthia while smuggling 105 kilogrammes of cocaine on 12 April and who consented to fast-track procedure just as Sanader.
Pursuant to the Austrian extradition rules, the country-destination of extradited people should organise technical prerequisites for transfer, Juhasz said.
The administration of the Salzburg prison where Sanader has been kept in detention since mid-December 2010, assumes that the former Croatian premier will be first transfer from Salzburg to the Vienna-Josefstadt penitentiary and after that flown on a regular flight from Vienna to Croatia.
There is also a possibility for transferring Sanader from Salzburg on a regular direct flight to Zagreb. The Croatian USKOK anti-corruption investigating agency has launched several investigations into the former premier on suspicion of his involvement in graft and other white-collar crimes. However, no indictment has yet been issued.
