promote the economic cooperation, said Anatoliy Kinah, the head of
the Ukrainian association of industrialists and business people
(USIP), at the opening of Tuesday's Croatian-Ukrainian economic
forum in Zagreb.
Kinah stressed that Ukraine was very interested in cooperation with
Croatia in the fields of ship building, engineering industry, in
particular, machine building industry, maritime transport,
pharmaceutical industry and tourism.
The Ukrainian delegation included USIP senior officials, managers
of a dozen companies and representatives of business
associations.
Prior to the start of the talks, Nadan Vidosevic, the head of the
Croatian Chamber of Commerce (HGK), and Volodymyr Schelkunov, the
head of Ukrainian national committee of the international
commercial chamber, signed an agreement on cooperation between the
two chambers.
Vidosevic said the two countries had great potentials for the
enhancement of their economic relations.
Last year, the trade between these two countries came to only 23.7
million dollars. Croatia's export to Ukraine amounted to 7.1
million dollars, whereas the import from Ukraine was 16.6 million
dollars.
