The international official also told reporters that earlier in the day he had approved a new, much wider mandate of the Independent Judicial Commission (IJC), making it a body in charge of supervising the entire judicial system in the country, including trials and the performance of judges and public prosecutors. The body will be authorised to suggest different measures aimed at improving the work of the country's judiciary, including the replacement of judges and prosecutors whose performance is poor.
