ZAGREB, Feb 14 (Hina) - Zagreb attorney Ivan Kern has been given power to represent retired general Mirko Norac in a Rijeka County Court trial against him for war crimes against civilians committed in the central town of Gospic area
in 1991. The letter of attorney was signed by Norac's father around 10 p.m. yesterday, Kern told Hina on Wednesday. Kern has not forwarded the letter to Rijeka County Court investigating judge Sajonara Culina because he is waiting for Norac to meet with President Stipe Mesic and to possibly surrender. Kern told Hina he did not contact his client, another reason why he did not forwarded the letter of attorney to the Rijeka court. Given his unavailability to the court, Norac was given a court-appointed attorney, Tomislav Sabljak from Rijeka.(hina) ha
