ZAGREB, Nov 4 (Hina) - The agreement of the Liberal Party (LS) and the Social Democratic Party (SDP) is full of shortcomings, but is still satisfactory, because the return of the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) to power would

ZAGREB, Nov 4 (Hina) - The agreement of the Liberal Party (LS) and

Union (HDZ) to power would discredit the results of reforms
launched by the incumbent government, LS president Ivo Banac said
on Tuesday. #L#
The LS and the SDP formed a coalition in constituencies nos. 4, 6,
and 10, and LS candidates are added to SDP's slates in other
constituencies.
"This agreement is full of imperfections, but we are satisfied as
HDZ's come-back to power would discredit the results of the ongoing
reforms," Banac told a news conference.
He added that the LS had offered an agreement to the Croatian
People's Party (HNS), but the latter rejected it.
Banac told the conference that his party proposed candidates in
constituency no. 12, which is designed for ethnic minorities.
According to Banac, the LS will continue promoting interests of
minorities in the new parliament as well.
The LS will not run in constituency no.11, designed for Croats
living outside Croatia, as Banac believes that this electoral unit
was phoney, and labelled it as "a continuation of the policy of (the
late President Franjo) Tudjman of division of Bosnia-
Herzegovina".
The LS leader criticised the ruling coalition for failing to annul
this constituency through amendments to the Election Law.
