BELGRADE, Dec 7 (Hina) - ICTY indictee Ratko Mladic receives about
EUR400 per month from the Serbian military pension insurance fund,
Belgrade-based Blic daily reported on Tuesday and added that other ICTY
indictees, apart from former Yugoslav president Slobodan Milosevic, were
receiving pensions from the same fund. The spokeswoman for the ICTY Prosecutor's Office, Florance Hartmann,
said in an interview for the daily that the fact that Mladic was receiving his
pension in Serbia proved the connection between Milosevic and the Army of
Republika Srpska.
The EU has recommended that the accounts of these people be frozen,
Hartmann said, adding that she did not know whether the decision also referred
to wages and pensions.
Unlike former Serbian president Milan Milutinovic, an ICTY indictee who
is regularly receiving disability pension, Milosevic has been denied his
pension request, the daily said.
