ZAGREB, Dec 1 (Hina) - Presidential candidate Slaven Letica, who is
supported by the Croatian Party of Rights (HSP), said on Wednesday that in case
of his victory in the elections he would be an active state policy maker, and
not a "decorative president" or "Prime Minister Sanader's escort".Apart from a more active relationship with the government, Letica also
advocated a more active role towards the parliament, which he said the
incumbent president almost never addressed.
Letica repeated that he was dissatisfied with Croatian Television's
(HTV) decision not to allow duels of presidential rivals in the first election
round, stating that HTV was blackmailed or paid by big parties to reduce the
campaign to a competition of two candidates.
