The president is not a decoration which is why it is important to encourage people, notably young people, to go to the polls at the presidential election, Adlesic told a news conference in the central Adriatic town of Zadar,
She said that a serious president must cooperate with the government in the prevention of corruption and crime and in solving economic issues.
Commenting on the situation in the Croatian Armed Forces, Adlesic said people with war experience were the first who got laid of while no cuts were made in the administration. She said that if elected she would deal with that issues rationally and in a just way.
The HSLS has no money for an expensive presidential campaign, there will be no mass rallies and concerts but we will personalise the campaign and meet citizens, the HSLS candidate said.
In a response to a reporter's question, Adlesic said she had the support of the former HSLS president Drazen Budisa,
She also said the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia was 'a must', but added that Croatia "failed to make a strong political pressure to prove that indictments against general Ante Gotovina and other Croatian generals are unfounded".
