Grabar Kitarovic said that Istria and Croatia were demonstrating political maturity by participating in various regional initiatives. She accepted a suggestion from Jakovcic that Croatia should appoint a representative to the Adriatic Council that would be in charge of the Adriatic-Ionian Euro-Region.
Speaking of international cooperation and projects that have been completed in his county so far, Jakovcic cited a project of integration and modernisation of the waste management system and the construction and maintenance of the drainage and waste water purification system.
Jakovcic announced that a European Information Centre would soon be opened in Pula, and that the Italian region of Friuli-Venezia Giulia had offered Istria County an office on its premises in Brussels, which Istria accepted.
Expressing her satisfaction with the talks, Grabar Kitarovic said that Istria was among the best counties in terms of development projects and that other countries should also be encouraged to follow suit.
