The conference will focus on issues of sustainable development and interregional cooperation in the Adriatic. The initiative for the establishment of the Adriatic Euro-region was launched by seven countries which have an access to the Adriatic and Ionian seas -- Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Albania, Greece and Serbia and Montenegro.
The conference is aimed at establishing a Euro-region which should contribute to the coordination of cooperation between Adriatic countries and create an opportunity of exchnage experience with other regions and countries with similar geographic characteristics, such as the Baltic and Black seas.
Croatia is represented by Tourism Minister Bozidar Kalmeta, Istria County prefect Ivan Jakovcic and representatives of Dubrovnik-Neretva, Primorje-Gorski Kotar countries and the Cutlre Ministry.
